Today's assignment is the measures of central tendency (mean, median and mode) as well as range. The range is the difference between the largest and smallest values in a data set.
For example: 12, 35, 21, 16, 8, 27, 33,
The largest value is 35, the smallest is 8. So 35 - 8 = 27
The range is 27
If you forgot how to find mean, median and mode.. there are notes and a video in week 8.

You do not have to print all the pages of the files!!! I broke it into two files... notes and student work. You do not have to print the notes. You can use them from the computer.
This assignment and the next assignment will be graded! Please make sure you read all the directions and do your best work! You can email me if you have any questions!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We are winding up the year. The assignment above is a graded assignment and the next one will be as well. All the other assignments counted as homework.
I have about half the assignments. I want to remind you this assignment and the next one will be graded. I am not putting up a new assignment today. For those of you that finished, enjoy the day off! For the rest of you, please have the assignment done by Thursday. Thanks

Not a Math thing but pretty cool. JK Rowling has started a new fairytale. I have attached the link if you want to check it out. There is a contest for those of you that like to draw! She is allowing kids to enter their artwork and whomever is chosen will go in the published book!

This is also a graded assignment. The last graded assignment of the school year!
PLEASE READ THE DIRECTIONS.... I KNOW YOU DON'T LIKE IT BUT MAKE SURE YOU DO!!!!!!
The first part of this assignment is the Data Table. I have given you a number of choices on how to complete it. My suggestion is to take at least 2 sharks from the webpage. Try it... it is really cool and interesting. Then you can take the rest from the data provided. If you would like to use more than 2 from the webpage, go for it!!!! I am impressed.
The bottom line is you need data on 10 sharks, however you choose to put that together. REMEMBER YOU HAVE TO CONVERT THEIR LENGTHS AND WEIGHTS. I HAVE INCLUDED SITES FOR YOU TO DO THIS ON!
Today you will make a line plot with your data. Read through the directions and create your own. Remember: the intervals have to be equal. You can start by going up by 2 then start going by 5s. We have talked about this! You do not have to do a rough draft to show me. Just send your completed work. I gave you two blank sheets, you have a choice as to which one to use. I know some of you prefer graph paper. Don't forget: the title and the summary. Read the directions on the sheet too!!!! Email me any questions.
