Dandelions make me think of wishes, my wish was to be back to school with you soon. Sadly, that wish is not coming true...
It is ok to feel sad, or happy, or both! However you feel is ok, chances are you are going to feel a lot of things. And sometimes you will change how you feel many times a day or an hour!
Remember this.... you are living history. Someday kids will learn about this in their textbooks, the way you learn about the Great Depression and other historical events.
We will do this together. I would love to see you
on zoom! Make sure you sign up for the remind
app. I will be sending the zoom invites through
there after this week.

Good morning! I hope everyone had a good weekend and got outside. It was a beautiful one!
We are going to review the Order of Operations this week. Today's lesson has a lot of pages. You do not have to (you really shouldn't) waste the ink printing them all out. You can write the order of operations on paper and the list of suspects as well.
You may need to revisit the video on Friday, the assignment is a little more difficult than the rest of the week. But I want you to try!

More Order of Operations!
A very important thing to remember: Multiplication and division are a team and so are addition and subtraction. They are done from left to right... it DOES NOT matter which comes first.
For example: 5 - 2 + 7 - 9 is done in that order. First subtraction, second addition, third subtraction
Another example: 6 + 6 +2 - 4 is also done in that order. But this time addition is first, second is addition and third is subtraction.
You must remember this! This is why the word PEMDAS is not a good idea!!!!!!

You are doing a good job with the order of operations so far! Keep going!
For today's assignment, don't print out the first page. Just read it from the computer. You don't have to print the suspect pages either, you can just copy the problems from the computer. I don't want you to waste ink!

Today is the last day of Order of Operations. This sheet is a little more difficult. If you have trouble look at the video. I go over how to solve the harder problems on this sheet. You may think you know who killed Mr. PEMDAS and where, but you may be surprised!
I won't be around to answer emails later today, my daughter is graduating from law school and we are zooming in. Actually, if we were in school, I would be in Colorado today attending the graduation!!! I will catch up over the weekend.
Next week we will be moving to mean, median and mode (Measures of Central Tendency) and range. You will like it.
Yoga is Monday and for our next office hours, I am looking into an activity that Ms. Menze said is fun! So we may need to do the office hours earlier because the activity is actually live on the internet. Another computer skill for me to learn!
Have a nice weekend and I hope the bombogenesis isn't too bad tonight! (I love that word!!!!)
