Hey Guys.... I still miss all of you! I still cannot wait to get back to school!!!!
Well here we go... week four... you got this!
We are going to finish geometry this week with surface nets and some more surface area.
Next week we are going back to integers. We will learn how to add, subtract, multiple and divide them.
Hopefully we will be back to school after that!!!!

Ok... two assignments for today. Spend 15 minutes on IXL. EE.3 Nets of three-dimensional figures. This will be marked as a homework assignment.
For IXL: You must use the district webpage. I have included the link below, but you can access this through the main webpage through online resources. Your user name is the first two letters of your first name and your last name. The password is just your id number. Don't us Mssd with it.... it is the number alone.
****** Remember I get a report, so I know who has completed these assignments*******
The second assignment is to send me a picture of your area project. I just want the answer key and your apartment. We are putting in the grades for quarter 3 this week. I will be grading your project so that 80 points is effort and 20 points is accuracy. So if you tried, you start with an 80.
I must have these by Wednesday.

Good morning! I am back with math lessons from the living room! This time from the other living room.
Today we will be using surface nets to find surface area of three dimensional figures. Your work is the link below.
Please make sure you submit your apartment project! They are due tomorrow and I am missing many of them. If you have submitted it - Thanks!!!!

Today we will be Multiplying and Dividing Integers.
To do this you:
Multiply or divide ignoring the signs
if you multiplied 2 numbers with the same sign (either positive or negative) you get a positive answer
if you multiplied 2 number with different signs you get a negative answer

A number of you have not submitted your Apartment Area Project. I have put incomplete in powerschool so you can submit them for a grade. If you haven't sent me a picture of your work.... please do so!!!! My grade are due next Tuesday!!!!
Today we will add integers. Adding and subtracting integers have different rules so we will be doing them separately. When adding integers: if the numbers have the same signs, add the numbers and keep the sign. If the numbers have different signs, subtract the numbers and the addend with the largest absolute value determines the sign of the answer. Watch the video... there is a sheet to work on underneath the video. As always, email me if you have any questions, concerns or just want to say hi!

Well... we made it!!!! Another week of remote learning in the books. Thank you all for your efforts to make this work, this is a hard thing and we are working together and being successful! I am so proud of all of you!!!! I miss all of you!!! Remember: You are living through a major historical event. Just like you learn about the Great Depression or other major historical events, students in the future will be learning about this one!
Today we will subtract integers. Next week will be your second graded assignment. I will give you a piece of it each day and you will submit your work on Friday.
Subtracting integers: You may not subtract integers
So like you may not divide fractions.... you may not subtract integers. You must rewrite them into an addition problem using the additive inverse (opposite) of the second number!
For example: -3 - (-6)
Rewrite: -3 + 6 (+6 is the opposite/additive inverse of -6)
Answer: 3 (Different signs - subtract the numbers - the positive number has larger absolute value so
the answer is positive)
The work for today is under the video. Have a good weekend and I will see you on Monday!
